The Climate in Greece

On the Peloponnesos, winters are comparable to the months of May and June in the Netherlands. Temperatures range between 15 to 20 centigrade during daytime and 8 to 10 at night. What if you miss winter cold? To go skiing, you do not need to travel further than Tripoli, which can be done in a day. Due to the high altitudes and the land climate, winter sports are possible there.

Spring is luxurious. In a few weeks' time, the countryside changes into a sea of flowers. The bright colours of Oleander and Bougainvillea dominate. Temperatures are between 20 and 30 degrees, and the beaches are lovely.

Summers are delicious and sunny, with temperatures until 35 degrees in the shade in the months of June, July and August. The proximity of the sea moderates the heat, and the water is delicious and clear, with plenty of colourful fish to be seen. The Mistral blows and tempts many a sailor to hoist the sails. It rarely rains.

Autumn is the time when the country receives the rain it needs to remain so wonderfully beautiful. Fortunately, it rarely rains for days. The temperature in the lower table is in degrees celcius.
